Elk Island Round Dance
The round dance brings people from all cultures, backgrounds and beliefs together to interact with one another in a good way. We believe the dance brings healing, honour and the ability to celebrate life to the fullest. Putting aside differences for one evening, joining hands and dancing in a circular motion – the way the earth travels around the sun.
When dancing hold your left hand up to the sky and your right hand, palm held to face the earth. Your left leg which represents the male takes the step forward and your right leg which represents the female slides across mother earth.
Everyone is Welcome to attend this ceremony.
Please be aware that there is to be NO PHOTOS or VIDEO to be taken during the PIPE CEREMONY. We ask that at this time, we respect and honour the ways of doing an indigenous sacred ceremony.
In gratitude,
