Grand Opening! Family Resource Network

On Saturday, February 1, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Family Resource Network (FRN) will host a grand opening for community members to celebrate its new space located at 160 Festival Way, Sherwood Park. This free drop-in event is for families with kids of all ages and will include fun games, giveaways, snacks and more.
The FRN fosters resilience in children and youth, promotes healthy childhood development, strengthens community connections and builds strong family bonds through a range of free programs and services which include one-on-one supports and drop-in and registered programs.
“Our new location is a welcoming space where community members can access both informal and formal supports,” says Gina Somerville, manager of the Family Resource Network. “This celebration marks the opening of our new space and reaffirms Strathcona County’s commitment to serving families, children and youth in our community.”
The new facility is designed to meet the unique requirements of FRN’s free educational programs and services. It includes specialized spaces for early childhood development, youth activities, parent education, family events and one-on-one support for family and parenting challenges.
The FRN is funded collaboratively by Strathcona County and the Government of Alberta and is a partnership between the County's Family and Community Services, Boys and Girls Club Strathcona County and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Strathcona County.
